Apple enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the release of the flagship iPhone 15 lineup in 2023, featuring a USB-C port instead of the traditional lightning bolt charging port. Recently, leaked images surfaced on the internet, providing a sneak peek at the upcoming iPhone 15 with its USB-C port. Tech website MacRumours shared exclusive images of the forthcoming iPhone 15 base model, showcasing the USB-C port located at the bottom of the phone.
These images were also shared on Twitter by an account called Unknownz21, claiming to have an early base model iPhone 15. In terms of design, the iPhone 15 is expected to resemble the iPhone 14 closely, with the only significant change being the replacement of the lightning bolt port with USB-C.
Last year, the European Union ordered all tech companies to integrate USB-C ports into their devices by 2024, providing customers relief from having to manage different chargers for different devices. The EU has extended the deadline for companies to comply with the rule for laptops to 2026.
In Brazil, Apple faced a substantial fine for selling iPhones in the country without chargers. In response, Apple cited its commitment to environmental protection and compliance with policies aimed at reducing pollution.
