Do you love fast-charging technology? Well, if you do, you’re in for a treat! While OnePlus devices can charge in just 20 minutes and Samsung phones can fully charge in under an hour, Redmi has taken it up a notch with their latest fast-charging technology. In fact, they claim to be able to juice up your phone to 100% in under 5 minutes!
Redmi’s “300W Immortal Second Charger” is the technology behind this lightning-fast charging. According to a post on Weibo by Redmi, this new technology can charge a 4,100mAh battery to 10% in just 43 seconds, 50% in two minutes and 13 seconds, and a full 100% in just five minutes. This exciting news was reported by 360Gadgets.
100% in 5 minutes!
According to the company, the new fast-charging technology introduced by Redmi is not an entirely new invention, but rather a modification of the existing fast-charging technology featured in the Redmi Note 12 Pro+. The Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition, which is currently only available in China, has a 210W charging capacity and can fully charge a device in just 10 minutes.
Personally, I’ve had a life-changing experience with the OnePlus 10T’s 160W fast-charging capability, which gave me a full day’s worth of power in under 25 minutes. However, the Realme GT Neo 5 currently holds the title of the world’s fastest-charging smartphone, supporting 240W charging and able to provide 100% battery in less than 10 minutes for a 4,600mAh battery.
In contrast, the high-end iPhone 14 Pro model only offers 27W charging, which seems painfully slow compared to the fast-charging speeds offered by Chinese companies. While some critics argue that fast-charging technology can have a negative impact on the long-term battery life of your device, there are mixed opinions on this matter.
