Our Galaxy S23 vs OnePlus 11 comparison shows how the phones differ with regard to their price in India, specifications, design, and other key aspects
This week at the Unpacked event, Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S23 series, introducing the standard Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and the robust Galaxy S23 Ultra. After the event is over, OnePlus will conduct its big event on February 7th, when the company will officially introduce the OnePlus 11 as its flagship model. Even though the Indian price has not yet been disclosed, when the OnePlus 11 officially launches in a few weeks, it may compete with the base Galaxy S23.
Samsung Galaxy S23 vs OnePlus 11: price in India
The Samsung Galaxy S23 was priced at Rs 74,999 for the entry-level 8GB + 128GB storage option when it was first released in India. Additionally, an 8GB + 256GB variant is available for Rs 79,999.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 11 was introduced in China in January, with prices starting at RMB 3,999 (about Rs 48,000) for the 12GB + 256GB model, RMB 4,399 (about Rs 52,900) for the 16GB + 256GB model, and RMB 4,899 (around Rs 59,000) for the 16GB + 512GB storage option. On February 7, OnePlus will begin the device’s global launch and disclose the India-specific pricing.
Samsung Galaxy S23 vs OnePlus 11: design, display, performance, and camera
With pricing out of the way, let’s look at the other aspects of the Samsung Galaxy S23 and OnePlus 11, such as the design, display, performance, and cameras.
Design
The OnePlus 11 adopts a similar design philosophy to its predecessor by combining all of the cameras in a single module, with the difference being that this time around the layout is circular rather than rectangle-shaped. Starting with the rear design, the Samsung Galaxy S23 has a three-camera layout stacked upon one another. Regarding the frame, the OnePlus 11’s right side houses the power button and an alert slider, while its left side houses the volume buttons. The volume rockers and power button are both located on the right side of the Galaxy S23. The bottom of both phones houses the speakers and a USB-C port.
On the Galaxy S23 and the OnePlus 11, the front display is shielded by Corning Gorilla Victus 2 and Corning Glass Victus, respectively. The Galaxy S23 also receives an IP68 rating, protecting it from water and dust.
Display
In comparison to the Galaxy S23’s little 6.1-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display, the OnePlus 11 boasts a significantly larger 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED display. In addition, the OnePlus 11 is equipped with LTPO 3.0, which enables the refresh rates to vary from 1Hz to 120Hz depending on the material being shown on the screen. On the other hand, the Galaxy S23 only offers an adjustable refresh of 48Hz to 120Hz. Both devices’ displays support HDR10+ and Always On Display, with the OnePlus 11 taking things a step further by adding Dolby Vision.
Coming in favour of the Galaxy S23 is the 1750 nits of peak brightness support in contrast to the OnePlus 11’s 1300 nits of peak brightness.
Processor, RAM, and storage
The Galaxy S23 features a customised version of the chipset designed particularly for the Galaxy S23 series. Both Samsung and OnePlus flagships are powered by Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. A sizable vapour chamber on each handset helps the processors maintain a stable temperature during heavy workloads like high-end gaming, filming videos, and downloading or uploading copious quantities of data. Both devices benefit from a variety of 5G bands provided by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC for lightning-fast internet connectivity.
Regarding storage options, the Galaxy S23 is offered in variants with 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. In China, there are three different storage configurations for the OnePlus 11: 12GB RAM with 256GB ROM, 16GB RAM with 256GB ROM, and 16GB RAM with 512GB ROM.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S23 has three cameras on the back: a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens with a 120-degree field of view, a 10MP telephoto lens with a 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP primary sensor with OIS. The OnePlus 11’s cameras, which comprise a 115-degree 48MP ultra-wide camera, a 32MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP primary sensor, were tuned by OnePlus in collaboration with Hasselblad once more. These devices can record videos with a resolution of up to 8K, and the Galaxy S23 even supports HDR10+ recording. With a 12MP front camera that can capture films in up to 4K quality, the S23 has an advantage over the OnePlus 11 in another area of the camera.
Battery
In terms of battery size, the OnePlus 11 has a substantially larger 5,000mAh battery than the 3,900mAh battery found in the Galaxy S23. Things get even better for the OnePlus because it has a 100W charging solution, whilst the S23 can only handle 25W charging. The OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 9 Pro both included wireless charging, but OnePlus has left it out this time. This is good news for Samsung’s flagship because wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging are still supported for recharging other phones and devices.
OnePlus generously includes an adaptor in the package to make up for the absence of wireless charging, something that Samsung has completely removed from the bulk of its smartphones, even the mid-range models.
