According to Oppo, its brand-new Oppo Find N2 Flip clamshell-like folding smartphones will go on sale worldwide and in India on February 15. Fans will be able to watch the live stream of the international event on Oppo YouTube and other social media platforms starting at 8:30 PM IST. After introducing the Oppo A78 5G in the Rs 20,000 segment and the Oppo Reno 8T in the Rs 30,000 segment, this will be Oppo’s first significant launch in 2023. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, which has a price of Rs 82,999 in India, will be the direct rival of the new Find N2 Flip.
According to the official posters, the Oppo Find N2 Flip’s international version will resemble the Chinese model. At Oppo Inno Day in December 2022, the Find N2 Flip and Find N2 were simultaneously released in China. Oppo appears to be focusing solely on expanding the Flip phone globally at the moment, with the regular notebook-style folding Find N2 possibly following later.
The poster also offers the colors pink and black. While the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a cover screen in a horizontal format, the Find N2 Flip has a wide cover screen in a vertical orientation. In essence, the display enables users to view notifications or preview photos without having to unfold their smartphone.
The China-specific model has a 60.8-inch primary (folded) Full-HD (1,080×2,520 pixels) AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The outer display has a size of 3.62 inches and a refresh rate of 60Hz. For the global model, we can anticipate the same display requirements. Apart from that, the Oppo Find N2 Flip has an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC coupled with an ARM Mali-G710 MC10 and up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Up to 512GB of UFS3.1 onboard storage is available.
The Find N2 Flip by Oppo also features Hasselblad cameras. For those who are unaware, OnePlus was one of the first smartphone manufacturers to collaborate with Swedish camera and lens maker Hasselblad to enhance smartphone photography. The OnePlus 11 5G was introduced last week, marking the beginning of OnePlus and Hasselblad’s third year of collaboration.
A 50-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera are included with the Find N2 Flip China model. Selfies can be taken with the 32-megapixel camera when it is opened. Aside from 5G, other noteworthy features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 4,300mAh dual-cell battery, and 44W SuperVOOC charging.
The price of the smartphone will be its distinguishing feature, despite the fact that it will be Oppo’s first folding smartphone in India. In the previous four to five years, Samsung has already introduced four generations of folding smartphones in India. It will be very challenging for Oppo to draw in customers if the Find N2 Flip costs nearly the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Recall that the Oppo Find N2 Flip had an initial price of CNY 5,999 (about Rs 71,000) for the 8GB 256GB storage model when it was first released in China.
