Infinix, a brand primarily known for its affordable smartphones, recently entered the laptop market with the InBook series. The company has now released its most powerful laptop yet – the Infinix Zero Book Ultra, featuring up to 12th Gen Intel Core processors. As someone who has been using the Core i9-12900H version of the laptop as my primary device for the past few weeks, here are my thoughts.
Design & Display:
The Infinix Zero Book Ultra has a 15-inch metal unibody design that feels premium, though it’s slightly heavy at 1.9kg. It includes all the expected connectivity features for a 15-inch notebook, including USB Type-C ports, an HDMI port, a microSD card slot, and a charging port. The device boasts a 1920x1080p 60Hz display with 400 nits peak brightness, 100% sRGB coverage, and 72% NTSC coverage, making it a colour-accurate screen for daily usage and content consumption. However, it’s a glossy screen that reflects a lot of light.
Keyboard & Web Camera:
The laptop has a large trackpad that supports all Windows gestures and works well. The keyboard keys feel slightly mushy, but the laptop includes a 2.1MP 1080p web camera that’s above average.
Performance:
The Infinix Zero Book Ultra features a 12th gen Intel Core i9-12900H processor with Iris Xe graphics, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of PCIe Gen4 SSD, making it a powerhouse for research, browsing the internet, and content production. Despite its CPU-heavy capabilities, the device lasts over 6 hours on a single charge and includes a 70Wh battery. Using it in balanced and over-boost mode will consume more power and reduce battery life slightly. The laptop supports fast charging via a USB Type-C port but comes with a barrel-style charger.
Should you buy it? The Infinix Zero Book Ultra is priced at Rs 87,267 and offers a good package for those seeking a CPU-heavy laptop with an all-metal build, a bright display, and all-day battery life. However, for just Rs 5,000 more, you can opt for the higher variant with 32GB RAM and 1TB of internal storage.
